Smiles on the Divide is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing dental care to the Georgetown Divide community. Long-time Divide resident Carla Sutton has a big dream and she hopes others will be inspired and want to join with her in making her dream come true. A number of years ago, Carla had a life-threatening dental problem. Many may not be aware, but dental problems can be as great of a health risk as any other disease or physical problem. However, there isn’t a lot of assistance for good dentistry that often requires substantial financial resources. Carla wants to remedy that and is starting a nonprofit called Smiles on the Divide. Her ultimate dream would eventually result in a dental clinic, much like a model of the Shriner’s Hospitals, where all aspects of dental care would be handled. Residents of the Divide would get the full dental care needed and be treated with respect and kindness.
Then came Carlapalooza Music Festival: Carla Sutton established the Carlapalooza Music Festival as a fundraising event for Smiles on the Divide. This annual festival, which began as a celebration of her birthday, has grown to include live music and community engagement. It serves as a platform to raise awareness and support for the organization's mission .
Current Goals: The organization aims to raise $5,000 to become a member of the El Dorado Community Exchange. This membership would enable Smiles on the Divide to be recognized as a legitimate nonprofit organization and provide various benefits. Community involvement through financial support, volunteering, and participation in the Festival is essential for the initiative's success.
WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP
This years 2025 Carlapalooza Music Festival is on Saturday June 21, at the VFW park in Georgetown. Each year the Festival grows ever bigger and better. In addition to 10 bands playing non stop music on 2 stages, starting at Noon til 10pm. Gates open at 10 am. An open mic to start the day, and the singing of God Bless America.

We have added this year a mechanical bull, enlarged the kids' zone with even more fun toys, local vendors will have their area, bbq brisket sandwiches, gyros truck and lots more delicious food to enjoy.
